Before Tanning
Exfoliate your body before you tan. This can be easily accomplished by rubbing a damp soapy face washer firmly over your skin when you are showering. Pay attention to rough areas like knees, elbows, ankles and the tops of your feet.
Do not apply moisturiser to your skin at this stage. This will reduce your tanning result. Makeup has a similar effect should you want your face tanned.
Wear attire appropriate for tanning. We suggest a dark bathing suit for women and dark shorts/swimmers for men. Comfortable and loose fitting clothing are recommended after your tanning session. (Disposable swimwear will be available for client use)
Apply clear nail polish to your fingers and toes prior to your session.

After Tanning
Once your tan is applied, you must allow it to dry completely. We will dry your tan before you leave but as a precaution, do not shower for at least 5 hours after your tanning session. Showering in the morning of the next day is your best option. Do not exercise or sweat excessively between your tanning session and this showering phase. When you shower do not be concerned if some of the initial bronzer washes off. This is part of the SunFX tanning process. Your skin will continue to tan.
Apply moisturiser twice daily after this shower. This reduces the rate at which your skin exfoliates. This will keep your tan looking better for longer.
To maintain your tan longer, avoid long baths, hot spas or extended swim sessions. This increases exfoliation of skin and can fade your tan. Shorter sessions are preferable. Avoid also products designed to exfoliate your skin.
Go easy on the exfoliation second time around so that you don’t remove your first layer.
We still recommend the use of sun-block creams for protection against sunburn.
